Education Foundation Providing Funding for Student Based Programming

Education Foundation

The D8 Foundation is now accepting donations!

This hold on funding will be accessed and reviewed each year going forward. Our hope is that we will be able to grant funding requests again for clubs soon.

We are requesting, similar to the request made at the time of the fund’s creation, that each club make a commitment to the foundation by budgeting an annual donation. We feel a minimum of $100 per club, per year will greatly aid in maintaining the foundation base.

As we look to continue and grow this fund, an annual donation will be a requirement to submit a request from the foundation. Donations made by corporations within your club’s market can be considered as your club’s annual contribution.

Thank you for your continued support of the AAF District 8 Education Foundation. Donations to the District 8 Foundation are tax-deductible. Our Tax ID number is: 27-4441540

Checks should be made out to the AAF D8 Foundation and mailed to Andrea Barber AAF D8, 729 Aztalan Drive, Madison, WI 53718

Our Commitment

The Education Foundation exists to provide ongoing funding for the NSAC competition and other student based programming. Every year, the 8th District of the American Advertising Federation encourages the growth and development of advertising students in our district by hosting the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). Advertising is essential. Through it, we sell our products, services and ideas. The NSAC provides valuable, hands-on learning experience to promising advertising and marketing students. We also support the creative health of our students by promoting and encouraging them to participate in the AAF awards program; The American Advertising Awards (ADDY).

History

The 8th District Education Foundation, managed by a board of directors separate from the 8th District AAF officers, was created in the early 90’s to provide ongoing funding for the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). The initial goal was to raise $100,000 over five years.  Once achieved, an annual annuity of approximately 10% of the Foundation fund was intended to cover costs of hosting the District 8 NSAC. As financial aspirations sometimes go, the amount of time it took to raise the money was far more than five years and 10% annual annuity earnings are no longer a reality.

But the money was raised, and over the last decade, the D8 Foundation board of directors has granted funding requests to a variety of student programs including; NSAC, ADDY (AAA) and student membership growth events.
